College Training Programs

Auto Collision Fundamentals Certificate

This FREE 7-credit, 3 class training program uses a hands-on, real-life approach to teach students the skills they need to enter the collision repair industry. Classes are taught on a work- and family-friendly schedule that allows students to balance work and personal life while pursuing their education.

Graduates earn an Auto Collision Fundamentals Certificate through Northcentral Technical College. WATEA will assist students with setting up job interviews with regional collision businesses during and/or after completion of the program.

The 2023-24 program is running from October 2023-May 2024. If you would like to join the waitlist for Fall 2024 program, contact WATEA.

Registered Apprenticeship (RA)

As a Registered Apprentice, employees receive most of their training on-the-job, while earning a good wage from an RA-program-approved employer. Learn more about the RA program here:

A BRAND NEW Diesel Mechanic Registered Apprenticeship program was launched in Spring 2022 through a partnership between WATEA and the WI Dept. of Workforce Development (DWD). If you are interested in participating in this program, you can get more information here:

NTC's Diesel RA Program

WATEA is currently working with the Wisconsin DWD to create more new Registered Apprenticeship programs in the following areas:

  • Automotive Technician
  • Automotive Collision & Repair
  • Service Writer
