High school is a great time to start exploring a career in the transportation industry! There are a lot of directions your path can take, from repair to rebuild, mechanics to driving, or parts to service. As a student, you can test drive different career opportunities to find out which path interests you the most.

  • Youth Apprenticeship (YA)
    • Get a paycheck AND school credits while working in the industry! With YA, you are a paid employee at a local business AND you get to learn what it is like to work in the industry through an approved training program, which earns you high school (and potentially college) credits.

  • Automotive Academy Pathways Program
    • High school seniors can earn an Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair Technical Diploma through Northcentral Technical College. Students attend classes at NTC in the morning and return to their high school for the remainder of the day.

  • Career Experiences & Tours
    • Do you want to learn more about the different jobs available in the transportation industry? Contact WATEA to get connected with local businesses who can answer questions, give you a tour, or provide job shadow experiences.
