Driving the Training That Keeps You Running!

High School Opportunities

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN and invest in your future!

High school is a great time to start exploring a career in the transportation industry! There are a lot of directions your path can take, from repair to rebuild, mechanics to driving, or parts to service. As a student, you can test drive different career opportunities to find out which path interests you the most.

  • Youth Apprenticeship (YA)
    • Get a paycheck AND school credits while working in the industry! With YA, you are a paid employee at a local business AND you get to learn what it is like to work in the industry through an approved training program, which earns you high school (and potentially college) credits.
    • To learn more about becoming a Youth Apprentice, visit the DWD’s YA web page, contact your school’s Career & Technical Education Advisor OR Contact WATEA so we can connect you to the right person today!
